The terrifying prospect of moving my spouse’s estranged, alcoholic father, Joe into our home was becoming more real. Our reasons to not participate were numerous, and all justifiable excuses, but with no money and no one else in his family interested in his wellbeing, the options for him were limited. Each day was flying by quickly, and the time to decide about Joe’s permanent home was running out.
